The Four Legged Foodies dine like kings in Kingston upon Thames

A Norfolk Terrier dog with a blue leash sits on a paved path. Behind it is a colorful sign reading "HELLO KINGSTON UPON THAMES". The mood is cheerful.

Kingston upon Thames is an ancient market town in South West London with a large shopping area, riverside restaurants and easy access to two Royal Parks. Kingston has a plethora of dog friendly pubs and a few restaurants.

It is also our home town so we'd like to share with you some of our favourite things to do!

Poor Boys

Start your day in Kingston with a hearty breakfast at Poor Boys on Kingston riverside. This super friendly place serves Louisiana comfort food and all four legged foodies are welcome.

A Norfolk Terrier dog stands beside a wooden sign promoting brunch at "The Bishop." The sign is against a leafy background.
The Bishop

Kingston Riverside is a great place to stroll along and watch the comings and goings on the Thames. It's also lined with some fantastic places to eat. We doggies are welcome outside all the restaurants and there are a few places that welcome us inside too.

Our favourite riverside pub is The Bishop which has a great outside area facing the river.

The pub always has treats on hand for us and they serve some great pub grub for the humans.

A Norfolk Terrier dog stands in front of a blackboard sign reading "Welcome Back! Come in and make yourselves at home :)". Brick wall background.

Another great Kingston pub is The Albert which is just outside the town centre on Kingston Hill.

The Albert is a large pub with loads of great outdoor space and there is a water and treat station for pooches.

Humans will find pub classics and regular specials like 6 Nation Burger menu.

A Norfolk Terrier eagerly looks at a bowl of bone-shaped treats on a table in a restaurant setting. Colorful wall art decorates the background.
Sticks n Sushi

If you're looking for a sushi restaurant with a difference, look no further than Sticks n Sushi!

The restaurant combines delights from Japan with dishes from Denmark and the combo works a treat.

Pooches are welcome before 6pm and will receive a plate of treats on arrival.

A Norfolk Terrier dog with a red harness sits inside a restaurant with wooden decor. A person reads at a table in the background, creating a cozy mood.
Roz Ana

Roz Ana has been our favourite Indian Restaurant for 8 years, so we were delighted to discover they now welcome pooches at lunchtimes.

Roz Ana means come every day in Hindi - and we definitely could! We particularly love their monthly regional specials menu. So you can travel the whole of India through food!

Pooches are welcome every day until 14.30.

Norfolk Terrier dog sits on a wooden floor in a bright café, tongue out. A green leash lies beside it. People relax in the blurred background.
Ocean Basket

Want to try fish and seafood that tastes so fresh you will feel like you're by the sea?

Look no further than Ocean Basket. This riverside restaurant serves up Mediterranean style seafood dishes in a great space right on the Thames.

Four legged foodies are most welcome and the staff all adore dogs.

A happy dog with its tongue out sits by a wooden table with a colorful drink in a café setting; background shows a "Gents" restroom sign.
Canbury Arms

Tucked away on a residential street in North Kingston you will find Canbury Arms and it is well worth seeking out.

The pub is beautifully decorated and has a fabulous courtyard space with most tables covered. The staff here are dog crazy and will all want to say hello to you.

The Canbury Arms is one of our favourite places for Sunday lunch which is always delicious and the humans can never eat it all which is music to our ears!

A Norfolk Terrier eats from a pink bowl labeled Bill's on a table in a cafe. A menu titled Bone Appétit is nearby. The setting is modern and cozy.

When we moved to Kingston in 2015, none of the riverside eateries welcomed dogs indoors. The first to do so was Bill's.

Bill's is a reliable place for a decent brunch or lunch and if the weather is good we still prefer to sit on the terrace overlooking the river.

Bill's partnered with Denzel's to offer a dog menu and there is also Scoops ice cream for us.

Two happy dogs sit in a wooden box labeled "Megan's" indoors. Background features a cozy café with soft lighting and people.

Megan's is a firm favourite with most London doggies as they have been welcoming us in all their restaurants for many years.

We were over the moon when they opened in Kingston in 2022. We love to pop in for a weekend brunch whenever we can but pooches are welcome anytime in all Megan's locations.

Their menu is described as food from sunny places. So even in the depths of Winter, you will receive a warm welcome and an even warmer belly full of deliciousness.

Norfolk Terrier dog with tongue out, wearing a green harness, stands by a bakery window displaying bread. Sign reads "Your Daily Brød."

If you fancy a sweet treat, pop in to Ole & Steen. This Danish bakery welcomes pooches in all their London locations including the one in Kingston Marketplace.

...oh and they do have savoury treats too.

A Norfolk terrier dog stands on a table in a pink store with shelves of colorful toys, drinks, and treats. Dog looks happy with tongue out.

If you need to stock up on any supplies while you're in Kingston, pop into StarBarks.

This super dog friendly cafe, shop and groomers is situated between Kingston and Richmond so perfect if you are visiting either and it's a short walk from Richmond Park.

The shop is well stocked with everything for pooches and the cafe does great coffee and snacks for humans. Dogs get spoilt with pupcakes, pup cups, ice cream and oodles of treats.

Three dogs on a boat wearing costumes: one in captain's hat and orange vest, another in striped sweater, third with sunglasses. Water and trees in background.

If you are in Kingston it's worth checking out the river and the best way to do that is on a GoBoat.

From Kingston Riverside, you can hire a GoBoat and spend a couple of hours with your pals sailing towards Hampton Court Palace or Teddington.

Check out our GoBoat blog for full details.
